Synopsis : 34-year-old Alice’s recent success in the literary world is upset by disturbing feelings of anxiety. Invasive images of sexual abuse haunt her and panic attacks intensify, leaving her stripped of all confidence and desire for human contact. In the building across the street, 17-year-old Ziv lives with his parents. He’s a talented young man who dreams of being a professional musician. When leaving for the army, the demands of adulthood fall hard on him he will be left sad and vulnerable, stripped of his dreams and innocence. A random call from neighbor Alice will allow him to meet the object of his teenage fantasies. The critical meeting of these two modern urbanites will produce both destruction and growth, violence and grace.

Director Bio : YARON SHANI is a graduate of Tel Aviv University Film Department where he teaches today. In his thesis film Disphoria (2002), he experimented with a unique way of making fiction with the authentic personality of non-actors. Disphoria was awarded internationally at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and Sehsuchte Film Festival (Berlin), and set him off to his debut feature length film Ajami (2009, co-created with Scandar Copti) which was nominated to the Foreign Language Academy Award (Oscar 2010); received a special distinction in Cannes; awarded Best Film in the Israeli Academy Awards and the grand prizes in Jerusalem FF, Montpellier, London and many others. Life Sentences, the documentary he had co directed with Nurit Kedar won Best Documentary Award in 2013 Jerusalem Film Festival.
