Synopsis : The Happy Prince is a British biographical drama film about Oscar Wilde, written and directed by Rupert Everett.[1] The film stars Everett, Colin Firth, Colin Morgan, Emily Watson, Edwin Thomas and Tom Wilkinson. It premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival[2], and was shown at the 2018 BFI Flare: London LGBT Film Festival.[3] It is scheduled to be released in the United States on 5 October 2018.[4] The untold story of the last days in the tragic times of Oscar Wilde, a person who observes his own failure with ironic distance and regards the difficulties that beset his life with detachment and humor.
Director Bio : Born on May 29, 1959, in Norfolk, England, Rupert Everett worked as a stage actor in Glasgow and London before hitting the big-screen. He was a hit in his role as Julia Robert’s pal in My Best Friend’s Wedding, and has subsequently starred in film projects that include Shakespeare in Love, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Next Best Thing, An Ideal Husband and Stardust. The Happy Prince is a 2018 biographical drama film about Oscar Wilde, written by, directed by, and starring Rupert Everett in his directorial debut.
