Synopsis : Awntoral'e Ananya (The Two Companions) by Nilimesh Kar is a contemporary lesbian adaptation of O Henry's magnum opus The Gift of the Magi. It is set in Chandannagar, a city in Bengal, in the period of modern recession and demonetisation which had shaken the nation. The film revolves around Antara, a typist and Ananya, BPO employee and explores the realm of unspoken unadulterated love which goes beyond the reach of materialism.
