Synopsis : Synopsis Shuhaib, the Immortal Fighter of Kannur Killing Field God’s Own country, Kerala is also known for being a land of political murders. According to the Crime Records Bureau report 2016 Kerala occupies 3rd out of 29 states with regard to political killings in India. In the last two and a half decades, 225 political killings were recorded in the state, most of which occurred in the northern district Kannur. Kannur killings are known for its brutality. Kannur is also considered to be the major stronghold of Communist Party- Marxist (CPM) both in state and national level. On the midnight of 12th February 2018, Shuhaib (28), a youth congress leader was hacked to death by CPM goons who mercilessly inflicted 41 injuries all over his body. This documentary attempts to analyse the historical and contemporary perspective of the political killings in Kannur through Shuhaib’s life and death. It also reveals how the scrupulous leaders use politics as a tool to enhance their fortunes by sending their youth brigades to kill or be killed. Most victims were economically backward and their shattered families lead a miserable life while the sponsors of violence continue to live a blissful life.
