Synopsis : The film tells the stories of passion and hope in life when it is surrounded by full of obstacles and unending struggle. It unfolds interesting success stories of three Indian girls and their international Championship in different fields of sport who represent the real women empowerment in Indian mainstream society. It takes us to their real places, family and lifestyles. The stories remind us a truth of the ducks paddling hard underneath and calm on surface.
Director Bio : Vaishali Kendale studied Media Research in Department of Communication Studies in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra (2009). She played various roles in National Award winning Marathi short as well as feature films including ‘Pistulya’ by Nagraj Manjule (2009), Marathi ‘Fandry’ by Nagraj Manjule (2013), ‘Khwada’ by Bhaurao Karhade (2015), ‘Postmortem’ by Vinod Kamble. ‘Postmortem’ won various National and International Awards and officially selected In Cannes Short Film Corner Section (2017), MAMI 2017 and Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF 2018). ‘Chasing Dreams’ is her debut film. The film won Best Documentary Award at 11th Pratibimb National Short and Documentary Film Festival 2018, Jury Special Mention Award at Women’s International Short film Festival of India, Goa, 2018, Special Festival Mention in 8th Dada Saheb Phalke International Film festival, 2018.
