Synopsis : India has a long tradition of metal craft traced back to Indus Valley Civilization (IVC). In West Bengal, Bankura district is famous for Bell Metal work since the ancient time. The Kasari community of Bishnupur, a small town of Bankura district is engaged in this craft through generations. Nowadays with the introduction of stainless still and plastic materials in cheaper price this craft is under threat of survival. The film documented the process of manufacture and changes that have taken place in this folk art form as well as the problems of these marginalized artists. It also documented the artistic excellence of the craftsmen as well as of the craft.

Director Bio : Kakali Chakrabarty is an anthropologist by profession. She has contributed effectively in the field of social - Cultural Anthropology as well as Visual Anthropology. She has produced a number of ethnographic documentary films and among them of her films screened in 'Jeevika' Film Festival, Delhi and another one has been screened in 22nd Kolkata international Film Festival, Kolkata.
