Synopsis : Four film students decide on making a documentary on the lives of sex workers in the city of Kolkata. As they go on with the filming process, they come across the brutal reality of the world of prostitution. Their values and ideologies get erased in time, only to bring out the real shades of them, the ultimate hypocrisy of the society.
Director Bio : Soumodeep Ghosh Chowdhury (born October 19) is an Indian filmmaker, screenwriter, music composer, photographer, author and journalist, who came into limelight with his very first short film ‘Feet and Foe’. He has so far directed four films including two shorts, an ad film and a feature. He started his career as a film journalist of the Bengali daily ‘Ekdin’ followed by ‘The Times of India – Calcutta Times’. His films include ‘Feet and Foe’, a short film depicting the life of an aspiring model who tries hard in her profession, only to end up making her feet famous. The entire story is narrated by the feet of the characters. His second short film was ‘Work In Progress’ that dealt with the story of an 85 year old Gujarati lady, blind and deaf by birth who persisted on working for her bread defying all her disabilities. His first feature ‘The Open Secret’ is based on the lives of Indian sex workers. He has gained immense critical acclaim through his films. Soumodeep Ghosh Chowdhury is also the writer of the book ‘Film Directors’ WORLD – Lives of 25 Great Movie Makers’.
