Director Bio : Biography: SUBHAMOY CHATTERJEE Born: 14 May 1973 He is the second child of Suchitra Chatterjee and Protip Kumar Chatterjee. Born and brought up at Kolkata, studied at South Point High School. He developed a keen interest in acting and direction from an early age. He used to take lead role in directing plays and skits in school competitions which earned lot of appreciation from his teachers. He acted as a child artist at an early age in a famous Bengali play named “Kenaram Becharam” for which he was awarded gold medal for his acting skills. After completing college Subhamoy joined the Indian Air Force at the age of 19. Service took him to various corners of India including remote locations. During his service at IAF, he got the opportunity to showcase his talents as cultural programs and events are an integral part of Indian Air Force. Subhamoy organised many cultural events, directed various plays and skits, actively taken part in various roles and got huge acclamations. Subhamoy has a sheer knack of writing stories and has written a number of short stories. In 2003 while he was posted to his native place he joined NIFFA to learn Film Editing. He learnt editing in the old Movieola editing machine. To fulfill his dream of film making, Subhamoy quit the IAF in June 2012. After one year of intense self study about film making through internet, he made his first short film “The Mother”.
