Synopsis : Logline When a tragic shooting incident leaves a young woman brain dead, her parents grapple with the heart breaking decision of donating her organs and the crushing force of a community's REGRESSIVE mindset. A young woman, Shreya Sharma, is shot in the dead of night. Strapped to life support systems, her parents struggle to come to terms with the tragedy: that Shreya's brain death is final and there's no coming back. But in the midst of death, there is a spark of hope. The distraught parents decide to overcome their personal loss and donate Shreya's organs to seven people. This turns out to be a challenge for all concerned due to the legal issues involved. But everyone--including doctors, hospital staff and the police--is determined to work around the problems and see the organ donation go through. Just when it seems like Shreya's tragic death may not have been in vain, a bunch of self-appointed community leaders put up the final hurdle. Their regressive mindset proves to be as lethal as the assailant's gunshots had been for Shreya.
Director Bio : Between June 1999 and to date in Tanzania Runjiv has produced/ directed / Line produced over 200 TV commercials for top-notch clients like Airtel, Voaphone, Tigo, NBC Bank, Coca Coia, Twiga Cement, Whitedent, Coral Paints etc. He has also produced and directed several documentaries including Colorless a Jury Award Winner at the Chashma Film festival and also awarded The Most Fav Film at the Fall Cloudfest Film festival organized on Facebook. Runjiv has produced and directed the on going TV show series Out of The World - a travel and Food show with the world famous Chef Sanjeev Kapoor for FOOD FOOD Channel. The show won the best travel show award in October 2016. Runjiv as well has Produced and directed 25 Short stories for Reuters Television, for their channel Africa Journal that were also broadcast on CNN, BBC etc. Runjiv has made many corporate videos for clients like African Barrick Gold, Tanzania Cigarette Company, Toyota Tanzania, NBC Bank, Mobitel, Vodacom, Serengeti Beer, Pearlsun Hotels (Sea Cliff Hotel chain) and other prominent clients in Tanzania. Runjiv has also directed the Live TV event Vodacom Miss Tanzania in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 an affiliate of Miss World in Tanzania. Runjiv has also worked as a freelance correspondent / cameraman for Africa Report a program produced for CNBC Television in South Africa. As a Director of these projects Runjiv has the required, high degree of skill in production management, scripting, screenplay writing and knowledge of audio track management.
