Synopsis : The film is a political satire with a young boy and his grandmother as protagonists. They make a living out of selling tomatoes. One sunny afternoon, four men dressed all in sparking white come to buy tomatoes. Although taken aback, the boy negotiate with the men and the deal is sealed with an exchange of money. The four men filled their black cloth with the weighed tomatoes and walk a few steps away, like they are waiting for a bus. In a few minutes a police jeep with red lights and a loud siren passed by, almost immediately followed by a convoy of vehicles. As the convoy pass, the two boys see the four men hurl tomatoes at the passing vehicles. The red tomatoes spluttering on the windows, bonnets, getting squashed under the tyres. The red tomatoes all over the road. As the convoy ends, the four men disappear, as quickly as they appeared on scene. The events of that sunny afternoon changes the lives of the young boy and the grandmother. Or does it?
Director Bio : I have a master’s degree in film making from L V Prasad Film and TV Academy, Chennai. Born into a family of film makers, my interest in film making comes naturally to me. I have had a successful career in acting - films, TV and theater before joining as a student at Prasad academy. As a student at L V Prasad, I have won many awards for my short films “Wasiyat Nama”, and documentary on transfeminity – “Beyond Binary” and “Kappu Kallina Shaitan”. ‘HARIKATHAPRASANGA’ is my first feature film. Currently I’m working in PIXEL PICTURES as the Creative Head of their new digital channel called THE GIST.
