Synopsis : We are in the southeast of the Tunisia of today. SALEM and HALIMA are a couple in their fifties who have lost their only child. They don't know whether he is dead or alive. This son, 'HMED' is a young man of 24 years, left clandestinely in Italy then disappeared! Nine months have passed since the evening of his departure, without any news of him. This changed the lives of his parents. Several hypotheses are circulating about the disappearance of their son. After nine months of futile waiting, Salem decided to investigate only. It sells gasoline "benzine" of contraband on the national road that leads to the Libya. He spends his time looking for clues that could lead it to Ahmed and the smuggler who helped him cross the Mediterranean. Information contradict and do nothing. Salem is confused. Director Bio : Sarra Abidi is a Tunisian filmmaker. She studied graphic design at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Tunis, has a Master’s degree in documentary filmmaking and is currently studying towards a Master’s degree in film editing. Her film credits include LE RENDEZ-VOUS (2006), LE DERNIER WAGON (2009) and 111 RUE DE LA POSTE (2010). BENZINE is her first feature fiction film.
