Synopsis : A person named Angaara stays in a small town who do not stick to rules to lead his life, he relies on his kindliness. A small tyre puncture shop he holds helps him earn his bread, and he earns his dignity by offering last rites to orphan dead bodies. His life takes an unexpected turn when an old woman is survived by her mentally disabled granddaughter. Angaara feels sympathetic towards that abandoned girl and accepts her as his daughter, but society seldom accepts a man’s choices: It challenges him legally for adopting the girl. Unshaken by these developments, he goes out of his way to portray that she is his daughter, indeed. In the middle of all this, he ends up building an emotional relationship with her. Gradually, when he finds it demanding to nurture her, he is forced to hand over her to an NGO for the treatment. This heart-wrenching situation that arises from the conflict of what one wants to do and what one can actually do becomes the narration of the movie ‘White’.
Director Bio : I am a rural talent originated from Hootagere village, Muddur Taluk, Mandya District. I am a Psychology student, but the filmmaker in me was always waiting to express himself since birth. Though I started my career with acting, my views towards society and life inspired me to become a director. Movies have a way of addressing and correcting the social issues, just like a teacher does. We cannot learn everything from books, so I took up the subjects that are treated as a social stigma to educate my viewers about the reality. It is today’s need to educate people about the society because with the immense development of social media, some people are trying to use it to spread the message of inequality and discrimination. To give the right message to the people, I make movies that can touch the deepest corners of the hearts of the people. I am not afraid of taking my chances and failing when it comes to making movies.
