Synopsis : In this Film, eleven well-known German directors try to reflect on the mood in the crisis-ridden Federal Republic after the kidnapping and murder of Hans Martin Schleyer and the suicides of the RAF terrorists imprisoned in Stammheim. Stylistically and methodically, they follow very different approaches: While Volker Schlöndorff, for example, tries his hand at a thesis piece on the antagonism of art and politics, and Alexander Kluge contributes a compilation of documentary footage, Rainer Werner Fassbinder's contribution is a "relentless physical and psychological self-exposure".
