Synopsis : Alpha a painter, lives in a subaltern abode built on bamboo pillars under which flows polluted sewage water. Alpha undergoes spells of trances in which he sees visions of surrealistic journeys revealing his abnormal mindset, he is loved by all his neighbors for his compassionate nature. Deep within alpha has a rare obsession for aesthetics and he paints figures of demigoddess (partly female and partly god). One night alpha discovers a floating dead body of a man in the sewage water stuck under his dwelling. Alpha’s life topples over. This floating dead body changes alpha’s existence as he knows it.

Director Bio : Nasir Uddin Yousuff has a natural and versatile temperament for visual arts that mostly include playwriting, stage directing and movie making. After doing his postgraduate degree, majoring in Journalism and Communication from Dhaka University, Bangladesh, in 1974 he worked with Bangladesh Television, a state owned television network, from 1975 to 1984. During the period he directed over 200 tele-plays and produced 1000 fiction, non-fiction and education programmes. From 1972 until 2016 he gave directions to 23 stager plays which received high accolade both at home and abroad. His first film in the year 1993-94. Ekattorer Jishu (Jesus 71), a full length feature film received invitation and nomination to the Edinburgh Film Festival, London Film Festival and Brisbane Film Festival. Guerrellia, his second feature film, was made in the year 2010-11 that received the NETPAC best Asian Cinema Award in the 17th Kolkata Film Festival in 2011. Alpha, which he loves to define as “the most modern film.” He received 22 awards, both of national and international repute mentionable among them are: Bangladesh Film Journalist Association Critic Award, Rotary International Award, Munir Chowdhury Award, , Daily Destiny Award, and Ekushe Padak (second highest civilian honor of the People's Republic of Bangladesh).
