Synopsis : ‘The Motherland’ is a social issue based film dealing with issues like land acquisition for industrialization, tribal land rights, displacement of habitats, issues of unemployment and environmental pollutions, etc. From the perspective of protagonist Mr. Mayadhar Nayak, a social thinker, a prolific writer, who finds a solution, that is ‘Land-to let’, means land should not be taken away from the landowners; instead land can be taken as lease/rent basis for industries. This film shows an alternative way towards inclusive development.
