Synopsis : Shankar had been a loved caretaker of the tropical birds' section in the zoo for 20 years. A new crisis arose when fireflies were declared endangered in India and having no more competent man, Shankar was asked to take charge of a newly set-up Government firefly conservatory in Purushwadi, Maharashtra, India. Failing to re-populate the Fireflies due to monetary corruption in the conservatory, the last firefly passes away within eight years of it’s establishment while Shankar was still in-charge of it. Fireflies were declared extinct in the country. Shankar's life takes a turn for the expected.
