Synopsis : Fever is an inner dialogue between two extremes, an interrogation mark on the idea of the “exotic”, and its representation through the “visual”. A film which aim is to explore the production, use, and consumption of visual imagery as an integral part of the heritage. Inspired by the claustrophobic atmosphere of Hong-Kong where extreme living conditions, overpopulation, and its post-colonial identity crisis is, in turn, contrasted by the image of a modern capitalist paradise.

Director Bio : RAFAEL ROMERO PEÑA (Seville, SPAIN, 1988) is a Spanish multidisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam where he obtained a B.F.A. from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Rafael’s work focuses on the understanding of scenography and film via the exploration of its sculptural aspect within installations, sculptures, and videos. He rejects the idea of originality and invention but appropriates strategies from social and the approach to the management of information so-called attention economy. His work is collaborative by nature and has been exhibited internationally throughout Germany, U.S, and Hong-Kong.
