Synopsis : The unique story of a young man named Tao unfolds at a breathtaking place in the heart of a bustling city. Slaughtering chickens for a living, Tao spends most of his time in close proximity with the chickens which seem to be the only companions to his solitude. Until one day three strange gangsters come to hide in the abandoned building where he is living in, bringing violence, noisy drunkenness, bullying, and a young prostitute. Things are slowly getting out of control between Tao and the gangsters and leading to an unpredictable outcome.
Director Bio : Lương Đình Dũng was born on August 03, 1973 in Tuyen Quang, Viet Nam. He is a Director, Producer, and Scriptwriter. Dũng got his Master of Fine Arts of Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema in 2010. Dũng' short film “Red Happiness” was screened at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, France. Another of his short film “The Boat Man” won the “Excellent Film Award” in the Tokyo Video Festival. Before becoming a director, Dũng took different types of jobs such as gold miner, red ruby digger, a blacksmith, a mechanic, and a kung-fu master. Dũng started writing poems and short stories at the age of 12. He published his action novel named "The Ownerless Girls", a collection of poems and short stories "Toward The Sun". He is also the scriptwriter of many TV dramas which are “Ban Gia”, “Hoang Hon Xanh”, “Banh Da, Banh Duc”... Dũng's debut feature film “Father and Son” which is written by himself achieved numerous awards including Best Asian Film Award at 36th Fajr International Film Festival; “Best Screenplay”- 20th Vietnam Film Festival; “Best Foreign Feature” Award - 26th Arizona International Film Festival; screened at 21st Black Nights Film Festival and The 48th Indian Film Festival. Especially, “Father and Son” is Vietnam’s Representative for the 90th Academy Awards Foreign Language features selection.
