Synopsis : When a city-raised sculptor visits a remote fishing village on the Bangladeshi Delta, he takes inspiration from the traditional ways of the inhabitants but draws suspicion for his modern beliefs and behavior. In this vanishing land where sea and sky merge, a storm is brewing and change – welcome or not — is coming.
Director Bio : Sumit was born and raised in Bangladesh's boisterous capital Dhaka. City Life, a docu-drama he shot entirely on a friend's handy-cam, earned him a place at the prestigious Berlinale Talents 2008 as an up-and-coming director. There, the likes of Andrzej Wajda, Stephen Daldry instilled a confidence in him. For the first time, he realized filmmakers are change-agents in the same way student politicians or grassroots inventors are.
