Synopsis : Manab Manabi is a story of two young married couples -- namely Samaresh and Anindita and Anjan and Gargi. The stories of these two couples are interlinked by a common thread – murder. The story moves around Kolkata and the tea-estates of Darjeeling where murders are plotted. The film shows that some people, though they behave normally, are essentially psychic characters. In the story of Anjan and Gargi, Gargi is apparently suffering from acute depression. She is being treated by a doctor, who happens to be a friend of Anjan. Anjan doesn’t want to leave Gargi as Gargi has inherited her ancestral property, which Anjan is eyeing. But Anjan is having an affair with another woman which no one knows. As per doctor’s advice, Anjan takes Gargi to a hill station and plans to kill her. In the story of Samaresh and Anindita, Anindita is having an affair with her boss at her work place. Situations develop where people think attempts are being made to kill Samaresh. Finally in a situation reversal the two stories get interlinked at the end.
