Synopsis : Anam Ahum, a Tangkhul Naga from the hills, travels to Imphal city from the valley in order to meet his daughter before she leaves for New Delhi in search of a job. During the course of the journey, he encounters different people and their stories, which unfolds the brutishness of ethnic conflicts.
Director Bio : Haobam Paban Kumar studied filmmaking from SRFTI Kolkata. He is best known for his documentary film “AFSPA,1958" which is the first Manipuri film to get the Swarna Kamal for the best documentary at the 56th National Film Awards 2008. His other notable films are “A Cry in the Dark”, “The First Leap”, “Mr India”, “Ruptured Spring”, “Phum Shang” (Floating Life) amongst others. Haobam's debut feature film “Loktak Lairembee” (Lady of the Lake) was premiered at Asian New Currents - 21st Busan International Film Festival 2016 and the Forum - 67th Berlin Film Festival 2017. So far the film has won around 15 awards including the Rajat Kamal for the Best Environmental Film - 64th National Film Awards 2016, Best Feature Film - 18th Mumbai Film Festival 2016 and Special Mention – Cultural Diversity Award - 11th Asia Pacific Screen Awards, Brisbane 2017.
