Synopsis : In the middle of a contagious pandemic an apathetic but adept doctor is taken hostage by a young woman in a desperate attempt to ensure the safety of her family. Captive in an almost desolate house inhabited by three women – the paranoid young woman, an amnesic old woman and a lonely young girl, the doctor discovers that forces beyond his comprehension are at play and he might be trapped not only in space but also in time. “Kalkokkho” is a cinematic experience of a time-loop. The film experiments with the texture of time with a blend of magic realism and existential horror to express the sense of dread and temporal stasis generated universally by the Global Pandemic.
Director Bio : Rajdeep Paul is an independent filmmaker and writer and recipient of the National Film Award for the feature length documentary film "At the Crossroads Nondon Bagchi Life and Living" at the 61st National Film Awards 2013. He has written and directed several documentary films, short fiction films.His feature film script “The Biryani Seller”was one of the 18 official selections in NFDC Film Bazaar Co-Production Market 2016. In most of his works he has collaborated with Sarmistha Maiti as co-writer, co-director and co-editor. “Kalkokkho” (House of Time) is Rajdeep and Sarmistha's debut feature.
