Synopsis : Manoj, a migrant taxi driver in Kolkata from Bihar, has learnt the new way of living despite frequent racial discriminations as an outsider in the city. He earns his bread and butter for his family comprising a pregnant wife staying at his village in Bihar. Accidentally he runs over a person on the street and escapes from the city. In hiding, Manoj interacts with an old peasant on a road next to a field. Their conversations reveals how wrong state policies force young people to leave home and migrate to the cities. The social degradation surfaces through a violent encounter with some local goons who are the victim of excessive unemployment and poverty. However, his back to the wall, Manoj interacts with his wife over the phone and tells her that he can not return home and maybe he will never see his family and their forthcoming child.
Director Bio : Kaushik Hafizee, after completing his graduation in English Literature, joined the Bengali film industry as an assistant director where he learned the technicalities of cinema. He found it difficult to survive in the industry because of his independent ideas about film making. He gave up assisting and started working on his debut feature film with the help of friends. With a small budget he completed my first film in 2021 after seven long years of hard work.
