Synopsis : When the bond is broken between two sisters, a little girl transforms into someone new in the name of belonging and resistance. Director Dina Amer takes one of the darkest tales of our time, the story of Muslim terror in the West, and reconstructs it in a story about family, love, sisterhood, and fractured identity.
Director Bio : Dina Amer is an Egyptian-American filmmaker, writer, poducer and an award winning journalist. She has helped to produce the Oscar-nominated and Emmy award-winning documentary “The Square” (2013) which chronicled the Egyptian Revolution from the frontlines. Growing up between the U.S. and Egypt, her work has focused on sharing nuanced human stories with a global audience. Her debut film “You Resemble Me” (2021), premiered at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival.
