Synopsis : The film tells the story of Bisnu, a middle-aged fisherman in a fishing village across the Brahmaputra. Bisnu leads an uncomplicated life; his livelihood revolves around catching fish and selling them. One cloudy morning, during the fag end of the monsoons, Bisnu's life takes a turn when something heavy gets entangled to his fishing net during one of his fishing expeditions. A surprised Bisnu pulls the net back with a lot of effort; and to his horror, finds a lifeless human body enmeshed in his net. Everything goes back to normal again gradually, but the boy's name and address gets deeply embedded in his consciousness; and soon he finds himself obsessing over the boy and his village on every step. The rest of the film depicts Bisnu's epic journey; where a man who has never set foot outside his district travels hundreds of kilometres across various cities in search of an elusive village; and when he manages to find the village, he figures that there are many other villages with the same name. Bisnu's travels opens up a different world for him, a world he had no idea about, and a world he would have been better off not knowing. The journey gradually becomes an allegory; a reflection of the state of affairs as seen by a man of limited information and boundless innocence. The identity of the boy also eventually takes mythical proportions, where it seems that he was omnipresent in every village suffering the same tragic end over and over again.
