Synopsis : 2011, Kolkata, India; 34 years of Communist rule has ended. ‘Deep6’ narrates Mitul’s story, a young single woman, who works as a journalist and lives in a house of memories. Her desk job is dreary; she typically Googles ′Chinese’ words – like “exit” -- even when her office is abuzz with ‘breaking-news’. Amidst this rigmarole, and her daily chores, she finds a liking for Atish, the new entrant in the office. As they begin to date Atish confronts the growing bigotry, and Mitul a personal crisis. Her Ex, Arka, who is not really an ‘ex’, is back since he would neither let go of the relationship nor their aborted political dream. Arka stalks her, rebukes her, reminds her of the past, and threatens to kill himself by suicide. Also, her grandmother has returned from the dead, and watches TV all day. Granny tells many tales of her lost homeland -- Bangladesh. A family of ghosts, an exasperated ex, a boring job and a political impasse haunt Mitul, and control her choices; until, one rainy night, Mitul decides to turn the tables.
