Synopsis : A young Finnish woman escapes an enigmatic love affair in Moscow by boarding a train to the arctic port of Murmansk. Forced to share the long ride and a tiny sleeping car with a Russian miner, the unexpected encounter leads the occupants of Compartment No. 6 to face the truth about their own yearning for human connection.
Director Bio : Juho Kuosmanen is a Finnish film director and screenwriter. His graduation film called "The Painting Sellers", was nominated for five Finnish film Academy Awards. It also won the first prize in Cinefondation in Cannes Film Festival in 2010. His film “The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki” was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the top prize. In 2021, his film "Compartment No. 6" shared the Cannes Grand Prix (the festival's second prize) together with Asghar Farhadi's "A Hero".
