Synopsis : On his way to collect an award, movie star Arindam (Uttam Kumar) meets a journalist Aditi (Sharmila Tagore) who requests the star for an interview for her magazine. Smitten by the intelligent and wise Aditi, Arindam responds readily and gradually begins pouring his heart out to her, confiding in her personal details, much to his own dismay. By the end of the journey, he gets so distraught over the feelings revolving around his personal life that he tries to commit suicide. At that very moment Aditi happens to find him and dissuades him. She also destroys the notes taken in the interview and convinces him that the personal details of the star is completely safe with her and will never see light of the day. Despite himself Arindam trusts Aditi and finally as the train reaches its destination, Arindam gets down from the train and is ready to face the public with his usual charm.
