Synopsis : A poor santal family struggles to make a living in a village. Apu and Asha are the only child of the family. Asha is physically handicapped by birth. Getting lots of love and care from his mother, Apu gets poor in studies. Asha is a good artist. She used to draw and paint with whatever she had since childhood. The poor family due to lack of money, never could have provided for Asha’s treatment. She couldn’t even go to school. Even if people got irritated, Asha painted with her heart and mind. Teacher Malini, who had been appointed newly in the village school, came across Asha’s talent. Asha gets an opportunity to study in a disability centre by the help from teacher Malini. The development centre provided with resources and training where Asha could develop and grow in her skill. Her paintings get awarded throughout the world, adding to that, her painting gets sold at 1 crore. Asha proves that physical disability cannot stop one’s way of life. Asha donated her earnings to wards the education of the village.
Director Bio : Pallab Roy Born May 1975. Graduated 1997 from calcutta university. Film study from Calcutta university and Jadavpur university. Last 22 years worked as Panel producer, News Producer, Editor, and programme director in various News channel and Entertainment Channel like Etv News, Atn world, Mon tv, Sristi tv, Tara Bangla, Kolkata Tv, Rplus news, Focus bangla, 24 ghanta , Star Jalsha ,Tribe TV. Etc... At present Working Tribe Tv as Output Editor and Programme Head . Last 28 years worked in theatre groups as Actor, Script Writer (Kolkata theatre for human Development, AnathVandar, OAR, Joka Uttaran, Nabanatyam, and Natayrgha) . As a film Director done various short film Documentary film and corporate film. Done two feature film 1. Epil (Santali 2021) 2. Asha ( santali 2021).
