Synopsis : After Squadron Leader Shekhar Malhotra dies, his brother, Amit, breaks up with Chandni to marry Shobha-- pregnant with Shekhar’s child--out of sheer obligation. Shobha miscarries in a car accident and is treated by Dr. Anand who, to Amit’s surprise, is now Chandni’s husband. While the loss of the child engenders distance betweenAmit and Shobha, the old flame of Chandni and his love is rekindled. One of their clandestine meetings ends in a car accident where Chandni hits a passerby while driving. The involvement of Shobha’s cousin as an investigating officer who wants to expose the pair threatens the reignited relationship. Shobha, upon learning of Amit’s decision to end their loveless marriage, is heartbroken, but trusts that her love will return him to her. Anand, also distressed by the knowledge of Chandni’s infidelity, leaves on a business trip. Amit and Chandni covertly leave the town to begin a new life together, unaware of the turn of events that awaits them
