Synopsis : Based on Samuel D. Hunter’s play, Darren Aronofsky’s The Whaletells the story of an obese English teacher who, nearing his last days, endeavours to reconnect with his estranged adolescent daughter. Brendan Fraser’s performance in the film, his glorious comeback after a prolonged dormancy, earned him a six-minute standing ovation at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.

Director Bio : American film director, producer and screenwriter Darren Aronofsky (born February 12, 1969), an alumnus of Harvard University and the American Film Institute, is known for making films that delve deep into human psychology. The recipient of several prestigious accolades, Aronofsky is best known for the critically acclaimed Black Swan (2010), a psychological horror drama starring Natalie Portman, which received five Academy Award nominations including Best Director, and secured Portman an Oscar for Best Actress
