Synopsis : Sang-hyeon, the proprietor of a hand laundry, with aid from Dong-soo, sometimes steals babies from the baby box of the church where he volunteers. The two then sell the infants on the black market for adoption. However, when a young mother, So-young, upon returning for her abandoned baby, learns about their hustle, she decides to go on a road trip with them to interview the baby’s prospective adoptive parents. Little do the traffickers know that they are being trailed by the detectives Soo-jin and Lee.
Director Bio : Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor Hirokazu Koreeda (born 6 June, 1962) made his directorial debut with the television documentary Lessons from a Car (1991). The alumnus of Waseda University is the winner of several accolades including the Jury Prize for Like Father, Like Son(2013) and the Palme d’Or for Shoplifters (2018) at the Cannes Film Festival.
