Synopsis : Tiwa is an ethnic group of the indigenous tribe inhabiting state of Assam. They are recognised as the schedule tribe with in the state. They are known as Lalung in Assamese historic colonial literature or in the constitution of India. The Tiwas are mostly the inhabitants of the western are as of Karbi Anglong in Assam.
