Synopsis : Sandra, Samuel, and their visually impaired son Daniel have been living in a remote mountain location for the past year. When Samuel is found dead outside the house, an investigation is launched for death in suspicious circumstances. Amidst the uncertainty, Sandra is indicted: Was it suicide or homicide? Daniel attends his mother’s trial a year later, a veritable dissection of his parents’ relationship.
Director Bio : Justine Triet graduated from the ecole nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in paris. Her early work questions the role of the individual within a group: sur place (2007) was filmed during student protests, and solférino (2009) during the presidential election. her first fiction medium-length film won numerous awards at festivals in france and abroad. her first feature, age of panic, premiered at acid in cannes in 2013 and received a césar nomination in 2014 for best first film. her second feature, in bed with victoria, was the opening film at the critics week in cannes in 2016. in 2019, her third feature, sybil, played in the festival's main competition.
