Synopsis : Prashanta, the only son of a rich businessman in Lucknow, pursues singing secretly as the strict father, B K Roy, feels that the profession is not fit for decent people. One day, the truth comes out and after a bitter duel of words, Prashanta leaves home and starts staying at a friend’s house in Kolkata. Singing under the pseudonym of Abhijit, he rises to fame quickly. One day, He chances upon a family looking for a car mechanic and ends up taking a job as a driver to the family’s young daughter Sucharita. He gradually learns that Sucharita is a huge fan of Abhijit, to the point of having a romantic interest. Meanwhile, Prashanta’s mother falls ill and the father takes the help of police to find him. Prashanta decides to sing at a function to raise money for a seriously ill poet friend’s treatment, though going public may mean the end of his career. The programme comes as a revelation to both Sucharita and B K Roy.
