Synopsis : Young teacher Ali lives with his aging mother Nigar in Istanbul’s Tarlabaşı district; home to many Kurdish immigrants since the 90’s. When the ongoing gentrification of the old city forces them to move for a second time, they end up in the soulless concrete desert of the city’s furthest outskirts.

Director Bio : Erol Mintas graduated from Marmara University, Department of Computer and Teaching Technologies, in 2006 he started his graduate studies at Marmara University, Department of Film Production. Mintas’s first short Butimar (2008) was screened in various important national and international film festivals and received 4 awards. His second short film Snow (2010) competed in various film festivals in the country and around the world like Montpellier IFF. It received 8 awards including the prestigious Golden Orange in Antalya FF. EROL MINTAS (MINTAS FILM) COMPANY PROFILE Mintas Film was founded in 2012 by him.
