Synopsis : A Buddhist temple of the Tai Phake people in their village is seen at the starting. As per rituals all the women offers food to the temple every morning. Ye Lon, the protagonist, visits there with her friend Khyaseng to offer food. While returning home, she comes to know that khyaseng decided to marry a boy outside their tribe. Gradually she comes to know about the UNESCO report that their Tribe existence is threatened. Even they cannot read their Tai Phake manuscript which is preserved in the temple. With this apprehension she meets Bhante to discuss regarding the fate of their tribe and to retrieve it from extinction. They decided to open a school to teach their language to their new generation. The story is about the struggle to preserve the Tai Phake Tribe and their language.
Director Bio : Prabal Khaund started his career as a journalist after completing his post graduate in Politcal Science from prestigious Cotton University. He directed and produced a huge number of music videos and audio video projects. His basic inclination was towards rediscovering of endangered folk culture of North-East in the digital world. He travelled most of the remote areas of Assam and Arunachal in search of folk-art material. His debut feature film Pai Tang is based on the struggle for existence of the Tai Phake community from the far east part of Assam. His book Pratham Prem dealt with the unspoken stories of life of a few prominent Assamese and was first book of its kind and was an instant hit.
