Synopsis : Sarah, a former martial artist from Vienna, accepts a job as a personal trainer for the three daughters of a wealthy family in the Middle East. Upon her arrival, she finds herself in a secluded palace, where the sisters are constantly monitored and cut off from the outside world, lacking internet access. To her surprise, the sisters show little interest in boxing training, leading Sarah to question the true reason behind her hiring. As she navigates this foreign environment, she grapples with the constraints placed on the sisters and reflects on her own expectations and aspirations in this unusual setting.
Director Bio : Kurdwin Ayub, born in Iraq in 1990 to doctor parents, fled to Vienna with her family. She studied painting and experimental animation at the University of Applied Arts and performance art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Ayub has participated in numerous film festivals, including the Viennale and Diagonale. Her debut feature film, Sonne, premiered at the Berlinale in the "Encounters" section and garnered multiple awards, including a nomination for the European Film Award. In 2022, the International Short Film Festival Winterthur focused on her work. Her second feature, Moon, was invited to the 2024 Locarno Film Festival, winning the Special Jury Prize.
