Synopsis : In 1815, Edmond Dantès rescues a shipwrecked woman named Angèle, setting off a chain of events that lead to his arrest for being a Bonapartist. Betrayed by close friends and imprisoned, he meets Abbé Faria, who educates him and reveals a hidden treasure on Monte Cristo island. After escaping, Edmond discovers his beloved Mercédès has married another. Taking on the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo, he meticulously enacts revenge against those who wronged him, manipulating his enemies’ lives. In the end, he confronts his past and leaves a legacy of wisdom: "Wait and Hope."

Director Bio : Matthieu Delaporte, born on September 2, 1971, is a French screenwriter, director, and playwright. After studying history and attending Sciences Po, he directed Musique de chambre, an acclaimed short film selected by numerous festivals. From 1996 to 2001, he worked at Canal+ writing fiction for Vrai Journal, a show hosted by Karl Zéro. Collaborating with Alexandre de la Patellière, Delaporte has since co-written several series and films, including Skyland, Renaissance, and The Godfathers. In 2009, he and de la Patellière co-produced Sweet Valentine, Emma Luchini's debut film. He has also developed his own feature film as a director, The Jungle.

Director Bio : Alexandre de La Patellière, born June 24, 1971, in Paris, is a French screenwriter, playwright, director, and producer, and the son of director Denys de La Patellière. He began his career as an assistant director and script doctor before becoming RF2K's director of feature film development from 1995 to 2001. He later joined Method Films and Onyx Films, collaborating with Matthieu Delaporte on projects like Renaissance, Skyland, and Les Parrains. Together, they wrote numerous screenplays, including La Jungle, RTT, L'Immortel, and adaptations of The Little Prince and Petit Nicolas. In 2009, they co-produced Sweet Valentine, and in 2012, co-wrote Once Upon a Time, Once Upon a Time.
