Director Bio : Max Ophuls was a German French filmmaker born in Germany. Ophuls initially worked in theatre before transitioning to cinema in the 1930s. He fled Nazi Germany and eventually settled in France. After a stint in Hollywood, where he made several films, he returned to Europe, creating some of his most acclaimed works, including La Ronde (1950) and Lola Montès (1955). Ophuls is celebrated as a master of cinematic artistry, blending visual sophistication with emotional depth.
