Synopsis : Six people travel in a railroad sleeping car from Marseilles to Paris. After the body of a woman is found strangled in one of berths of the sleeping car, Inspector Grazziani investigates the case. As passengers are questioned, the police suspects that one of them committed the homicide, but more murders occur, each victim connected to the same train compartment.

Director Bio : Costa Gavras is a Greek French director born in Greece in 1933. He moved to France to study film at the prestigious IDHEC. His career took off with The Sleeping Car Murders, which displayed his ability to merge suspenseful storytelling with social commentary. Costa Gavras gained international recognition with films like Z (1969), which tackled political corruption, and Missing (1982), which won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay. His work often explores themes of oppression, law, and justice, making him a prominent figure in political cinema.
