Synopsis : Reshma lives in a small village in a river island of the Brahmaputra. Her father Aminul insists on her early marriage and begetting children rather than going to school. The Mulla Gaonbura lecherously plans to make Reshma his fourth wife. Hafeez, an honest teacher helps Reshma to fulfil her dreams by admitting her in his school. But Mulla Gaonbura spreads a scandal against Hafeez leading to his suicide. A few village youths encourage her and eventually Reshma comes out of the veil of darkness to the light of knowledge.
Director Bio : A man from the rich cultural heritage town of Tezpur of North East India, Hiren Bora , stage actor turned Film maker, Story & Script writer, depicts the Socio-economic development issues through celluloid. He is the author of a number short stories. Some of his short stories have been turned into film. He had associated himself in making films from his very young age . Being a member of a family of cultural background. He started his journey independently by directing/producing T.V. Serials in Assamese, Hindi & English besides documentaries for Doordarshan & other T.V. Channels and radio plays for All India Radio. Some of his serials received awards of Best Director, Best serial.
