Synopsis : Sarah, in her forties, feels utterly drained by her nine-year-old son Simon and five-year-old Louis demanding all her attention, while her husband is frequently away on business trips. One day at the beach, Simon goes missing. After a frantic search, Sarah finds him wet and shaken, staring at the ocean. Once home, Simon behaves oddly, spending hours in the bath and seeking water whenever he can. Worried, Sarah encourages him to share what’s troubling him. Eventually, Simon reveals his secret that when he's submerged in water, he can hear voices from outer space.
Director Bio : French filmmaker Élise Otzenberger began her career as an actress in classical theater. She appeared in her first film, Gérard Jugnot’s Most Promising Young Actress, in 2000. Since then, she has moved between classical plays and modern comedies while also working in films and TV shows. Some of her notable works include Man’s Gentle Love (2002), Après Vous (2003), The Jungle (2006), Off Prime (2007-08), Agathe Cléry (2008), Cyprien (2009), Humans (2009), Sisters (2009), and Love and Bruises (2011). In 2006, she wrote and directed her first one-woman show, My Hollywood…Dear Mr. Spielberg, and later became a screenwriter. Her first feature film, My Polish Honeymoon, won the FIPRESCI award at the 2018 Moscow International Film Festival.
