Synopsis : The Féral family moves to a quiet, seemingly peaceful town, intent on blending in and appearing as normal as possible. Their son, Philémon, an introspective 17-year-old, harbors a dark secret, a peculiar condition that he has managed to hide for years. However, as Philémon grows older, his urges become harder to control, especially as he becomes closer to his neighbor, Camila. What begins as affection soon transforms into an overwhelming thirst for blood, making his secret impossible to keep hidden as his desires escalate beyond his control.
Director Bio : Céline Rouzet is a French filmmaker known for her creative blend of genres, combining horror and coming-of-age elements. Her feature film debut, For Night Will Come (2023), was premiered at the 80th edition of the prestigious Venice Film Festival. Before venturing into fiction, Rouzet made her mark in documentary filmmaking with A Distant Thud in the Jungle. In the film For Night Will Come, she explores themes of identity and societal pressures through the story of a family with a vampiric son trying to fit into a suburban community. Rouzet's distinct style mixes fantasy with social commentary, drawing inspiration from both arthouse cinema and mainstream genre films.
