Director Bio : Matthieu Rytz is a Canadian filmmaker, producer, and photographer known for his powerful storytelling, particularly in environmental and human-focused narratives. A trained visual anthropologist, Rytz uses diverse media—film, photography, and virtual reality—to capture complex global issues. His first documentary, Anote’s Ark (2018), earned critical acclaim, receiving nominations for Best Cinematography at the Canadian Screen Awards and the Quebec Cinema Awards. Rytz’s latest work, Deep Rising, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, examining the environmental impact of deep-sea mining.
