Synopsis : Eight-year-old Feliciano, a Peruvian alpaca herder, dreams of his national team’s World Cup qualification while caring for his sheep alongside Ronaldo, a young alpaca, and Rambo, an old dog. However, their peaceful life is disrupted when a mining company contaminates a nearby lake, threatening their land. When Ronaldo and other alpacas vanish and authorities ignore his pleas, Feliciano sets out to find Ronaldo. As he searches, his community bands together to fight the mining company and protect their home.
Director Bio : Franco García Becerra, a Peruvian filmmaker born in Cusco in 1977, gained early acclaim with award-winning shorts like Indie (2008), which won the Peruvian Short Film Award, and Lima (2011), honored by Peru's Ministry of Culture and the Peruvian Film Festival in Paris. His debut feature, Southern Winds (2018), premiered at the Lima Film Festival and was showcased at other international festivals, including Santo Domingo, Chicago Latino, and Cine Las Americas. His second feature, Raíz (2024), had its world premiere at Berlinale, and his latest film, Through Rocks and Clouds (2024), was selected for Berlinale’s Generation Kplus.
