Synopsis : Present day India. A middle-aged police encounter-specialist (hit man) reveals his obsession with the assassinating Muslim men in a series of intense and intimate conversations with his wife and lover. Parallelly, a dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjun from Bhagavad Gita unfolds. Arjun tells Krishna that he is unable to kill his cousins and elders. He asks Krishna to be his spiritual teacher and direct him along the right course of action. Krishna admonishes Arjun and says that he will be disgraced if he doesn't stand up for the right cause. He advises that he should fight for religious and moral duty.
Director Bio : Ashish Avikunthak has been making films for 30 years. His films have been the subject of more than a dozen retrospectives, eighteen solo shows and they have been shown worldwide in major film festivals, group shows and museums. His films have been selected multiple times at Locarno, Rotterdam, and Berlin film festivals. Important retrospective of his works was held on MUBI (2021-22), Wolf Kino, Berlin (2019), Kino Klub, Split, Croatia (2019), Pungent Film Series, Athens, Greece (2018), Centre for Moving Image Arts, Bard College (2015), and other locations He has a PhD in Cultural and Social Anthropology from Stanford University and has earlier taught at Yale University. He is now a Professor of Film at University of Rhode Island.
