Synopsis : This is a story about young girls after they are rescued from trafficking. A story of hope, about their strength, resilience, and continuous fight against injustice as they deal with trauma, discrimination, stigmatization, threats, re-victimization. An amazing association of twenty girls called ‘’Utthan’’ which means uplifted in Bengali, who are now helping almost two hundred survivors, regenerate themselves, through outreach programmes, with the help of various social workers and Sanjog, led by Uma Chatterjee, a dynamic NGO based in Kolkata, working on human rights and gender equity ,combating violence against women and children. This story, traces the journey of some of these Survivor leaders, who were trafficked from spaces of trust and exploited by force, who managed to escape and are now fighting for not just their own rights, but are part of a movement, becoming self sufficient and ultimately becoming part of the policy
