Synopsis : K.G. Subramanyan (1924-2016) was a versatile artist whose work fused diverse artistic influences, from folk traditions and Tagore's Santiniketan to Matisse, Picasso, and Indian miniatures. A painter, sculptor, muralist, printmaker, and writer, he explored various mediums such as textiles, tapestries, watercolors, oils, and terracotta, creating works on paper, canvas, glass, and even metal. His art was marked by a unique urban and ironic sensibility. The film delves into his creative process, examining the distinct qualities of each medium he used. It features a conversation with Samik Bandyopadhyay, framing KGS's intellectual and political journey, including his contributions to India's modern public art and his involvement in the freedom movement.
