Synopsis : Thinking of Him explores the unique, platonic bond between Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore and Argentine writer Victoria Ocampo. The film intertwines two timelines: in the past, Tagore visits Argentina, forming a deep connection with Ocampo, marked by mutual admiration and a brief, innocent romance. In the present, Felix, a disillusioned teacher, becomes captivated by Tagore’s works and philosophy while teaching at a juvenile detention center. Inspired by Tagore’s vision for a revolutionary education system, Felix dreams of visiting India. Through these stories, the film reflects on love, cultural exchange, and the timeless impact of Tagore’s spiritual ideas.
Director Bio : Pablo César, born in 1962, is an Argentine filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, and professor known for his work in independent cinema. He began his career in the 1970s, creating short films in Super 8, before transitioning to feature films. César is recognized for his co-productions with African and South Asian countries, including India, Tunisia, and Mali. His films often explore postcolonialism, African philosophy, and the connection between East and West. Notable works include the "trilogy of triumphs," Pensando en él (2018), and El día del pez (2020). César has also been an influential professor and jury member at various international film festivals.
